Creating art and telling stories has always been a part of me. And while my childhood was filled with opportunities to explore creative outlets, adulthood threatened to starve that part of me. For fifteen years I was a teacher, teaching science and computer skills. My love for the natural world, the universe and the process of scientific investigation motivated me to engage with my students in a way that I hope promoted respect and awe for what science has made available. And while there was always joy in witnessing those moments of discovery, the job has taken far more out of me than it was able to give. In the midst of trying to mend neglected relationships with friends, family, and God I also realized that I was neglecting those parts of myself where passion for art and writing reside. So I created this space (upon the advice of my brother) to make my pursuit of these things part of a new daily lifestyle. As the site suggests, these are works in progress or creative dead ends, nothing that is meant to blow up the literary and art worlds. But seeing these projects collected in one place motivates me to continue to exercise this part of myself. This is also a way for me to step outside of myself and share what I do, and perhaps ignite something creative in someone else. Thank you in advance,
Edwin Hernandez
